Favourite foundations of all time.

Let's talk foundation essential to every girl's makeup kit but yet so many of us never know where to start when buying this gem. I think it is probably the product I have wasted the most money on through either buying the wrong shade, the wrong consistency and coverage for my skin. I can remember purchasing my first foundation Mac studio finish in shade NW45 the one shade every black girl wore. Thankfully the shade range being offered across the beauty industry is a lot better. I have decided to share my top 5 foundations of all time.

Skin Type : Combination Oil.

Preferred Coverage: Medium to full.

Top Tip: Often use the same brand concealer as your foundation as they complement each other.

Foundation me up!

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation- £35 definitely full coverage and you won't need much to cover the full face depending on how heavy you go with it. Due to the consistency of the foundation, it never looks cakey. As it has radiant in its name I know a lot of girls with oily/combination skin can be put off but don't. I think as long as you use a primer then you too are good to go. We too can look glowy and not oily and we deserve it.

I have to give props to Nars on this one due to the extensive shade range. NARS describes it as A UNIQUELY LIGHTWEIGHT FOUNDATION THAT PROVIDES 16 HOURS OF FADE-RESISTANT WEAR WITH FULL-POWERED RADIANCE. Not sure about 16 hours but overall it lasts the full day and as long as I use primer it doesn't separate. My shade is Macao.

Nars Complete Soft Matte Foundation- £29-Described as A FULL COVERAGE, NATURAL-LOOKING MATTE FOUNDATION THAT RESISTS SHIFTING SHADES THROUGHOUT THE DAY DUE TO OXIDATION, AND FEATURES COMFORTABLE 16-HOUR WEAR. This is a new release for Nars and a pretty good one. I love this foundation and it is even more full coverage than the natural radiance. Leaving you with a matte but not cakey finish its a winner for my oily skin girls. My shade is Macao/Marquises.

Fenty Beauty Pro-Filtr Soft Matte Long-wear foundation- £27- Described as A soft matte, long wear foundation with buildable, medium to full coverage, now in a boundary-breaking range of 50 shades. Firstly Rihanna killed it with the shade range. I would say this foundation is medium to light coverage however it is buildable meaning if you want to make it full coverage then you can. I however love that it's not too thick or heavy and I love this for my minimal makeup look. My shade is 420/410.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation-£29- Described as an oil-free foundation that delivers medium-to-full coverage with an undetectable finish for a naturally flawless makeup look. Striking the perfect balance between makeup and skin, the barely visible foundation creates a veil of perfection, creating a smoother-looking canvas with a more even tone. I think you can't really go wrong with this foundation. Suitable for most skin types again an excellent one for my oily girls. My shade is Chai ( summer shade).

Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation-£29.50-Described as the Dior makeup artists' secret weapon to create an instantly flawless complexion with ultra-buildable coverage, from a natural nude glow to high-coverage perfection. I really like this foundation but wish it came in more shades. The consistency I am not crazy about as it can be quite watery however it means that it's buildable as its super light. I love it in summer as it gives me a glow so I tend to use it when I have my tan during summer. Shade -6W.

Let me know what your favourite foundation of all time is. Thanks for reading!
